Ionic liquids are ionic compounds characterized by low volatility, non-flammability, and high ionic conductivity. Leveraging these properties, they are used in a wide range of applications, including antistatic agents, electrolytes for rechargeable batteries, lubricating oil, and novel reaction solvent.
In particular, ionic liquids are widely applied as antistatic agents for optical materials, as they can effectively reduce electrical resistance with only small amounts added while maintaining transparency.
In recent years, display components have continued to advance in terms of larger size, higher resolution, and enhanced functionality. Under these conditions, effective control of static electricity has become increasingly important. To suppress charge buildup—the root cause of static-related issues—high-performance antistatic agents are required.
Meanwhile, PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), which have been widely used across various industries and applications, have raised concerns due to their persistence and bioaccumulation potential. As a result, regulatory restrictions, particularly in Europe and the United States, are becoming increasingly stringent.
Against this backdrop, there is a strong demand for high-performance antistatic agents that comply with PFAS regulations.
We have developed advanced ionic liquid technologies based on cation synthesis derived from alkylation reactions and purification expertise, as well as anion design technologies including PFAS-free structures, such as bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (FSI), and halogen-free alternatives.
In addition, by quantifying the structural characteristics of ionic liquids, building a proprietary database, and optimizing them for resin properties, we enable efficient material selection.
These technologies allow us to move beyond conventional trial-and-error approaches, enabling faster and more precise identification of optimal products for our customers.

Based on bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (FSI), these products exhibit low viscosity and high ionic conductivity, enabling excellent antistatic performance with minimal addition.
Furthermore, our high-purity manufacturing technology suppresses discoloration over time under high-temperature conditions, ensuring long-term color stability. This contributes to improved durability and extended service life of display materials.
