Since our foundation in 1909, we have operated our business as a chemical materials manufacturer with our company credo "Contribute to the nation and society through industry" and our company mottos "Quality First,” “Cost Reduction,” and “R&D Efforts.” During the period of industrial growth and development in the Meiji era (1868-1912), the Company began with the development of Sankenkaijyoeki (a cocoon unwinding agent), a chemical solution designed to efficiently extract silk threads from cocoons. This technology improved spinning productivity and contributed to the establishment of mass production technology in the silk industry. The interfacial technology that emerged from this development is our core technology and the source of our growth.

We aim to become a "Uni-Top" company that is recognized for its uniqueness rather than scale. Our strength lies in the ability to provide materials for a wide range of industrial fields by combining diverse technologies, including surfactants. In recent years, we have been focusing on the development of materials that contribute to digitalization, decarbonization, and the realization of a healthy and circular society. We aim to strengthen our earnings in the four business domains of "Electronics & IT," "Environment & Energy," "Life & Wellness," and "Core Materials." As an R&D-oriented company, we are committed to creating value-added products that meet customer needs.

In April 2025, we launched our five-year Medium-Term Management Plan, "SMART 2030 (smart twenty-thirty).” We will create new corporate values, establish a code of conduct, and work to enhance our human capital. Our vision is to be "a smart chemical partner that solves various issues in society." Under the three keywords of "Uni-Top," "Sustainability," and "Challenge," we will implement a strategy that links the maximization of intangible assets, including human capital, with corporate growth.
